Things are definitely scary at the moment. In these uncertain times it seems that how we live and co-exist, is changing by the day. I am finding it’s the little things and daily routines, like taking time for a coffee break, are helping to maintain normality and keeping me sane.
When Jura approached me to trial their new GIGA 6 model I was only too happy to give it a go. Three and a half years ago I reviewed one of their smaller machines, the Z6, and loved it so much that we made the purchase.
The current imperative for social distancing and also the closure of cafés and restaurants has forced me to be at home more. Like many others, I am also having to now share my home office with my husband. Needless to say, our coffee machine is getting a bit of a workout!
The GIGA 6 has all the bells and whistles of the Z6 and I can customise my flat white at the touch of a button. The coffee beans are ground, extracted and the perfect amount of milk and froth are all automatically dispensed.
It has the additional feature of being able to pour two coffees at once. This option is perfect for entertaining.
Another plus for me are the two bean compartments so I can use decaf beans for my afternoon coffees.
I’ll admit I’m a bit of a dinosaur when it comes to being tech savvy but this feature has even impressed me. There is a Bluetooth chip in the back of the machine so you can have your preferred coffee made (by Siri!) via the app from your phone.
At a time when we are being advised to stay at home, having an automatic barista which produces café quality coffee is a pleasure that makes a very uncertain time a little less stressful.
Stay well.
