If you have ever tried to buy new bedding, just to be overwhelmed by the pillows alone, I hope this blogpost will be of some assistance! Where to put Euros, Standards, how many Accent pillows, yes there can be some method to styling bed pillows.
QUEEN SIZE BED:
Thanks to Erin Zacharda from Meadow Lake Road who has created a great visual for some Queen bed options.
Probably the easiest and most common arrangement is two Euros, two Standards and then two Accent pillows.
This arrangement uses the same pillows but with the Euros at the back.
Or just keep it simple with one larger Accent pillow.
For my bedroom at the beach house I decided to stack the Standard pillows to make more of a feature of my Caitlin Wilson Accents.
KING SIZE BED:
I have always found it a challenge to style my King bed pillows. That extra length takes a bit to fill but that is half the fun! My version is a bit of a mix, 2 Euros, 3 Scatters and a Bolster.
This arrangement is simple but fills the space, three Euros, two Standards and two Accents.
Euros are brought forward on this King bed.
Hotel beds are often a great source of inspiration. This is one from Hamyard Hotel in London which I recently blogged about (here), designed by Kit Kemp.
Styling bed pillows does not have to stick to a formula to look great. Using various pillows sizes in patterns and plain fabrics can look interesting and more relaxed.
I love this arrangement of beautiful fabrics.
A long bolster is another great addition, particularly if there are a lot of straight lines in the room with the headboard, artwork etc.
My final word is to have a play with styling bed pillows. Most bedding stores will allow you to take home their products to trial with the option to exchange, so have a go. Of course there are other elements to consider such as the headboard, throws, bedding, but I’ll save that for another post.
