Maybe it’s a trait of my Cancerian star sign but I do like to collect the odd thing or two. My latest little penchant is for needlepoint cushions. Not the old fashioned embroidered ones from yesteryear but the brightly coloured and fun 21st century variety. The recent resurrection of needlepoint seems to have been led by one of my favourite designers, Jonathan Adler.
I only have three cushions in my mini collection but I think they add some personality to the room. I was looking for a pop of colour and something a bit unexpected for our front sitting room and decided on these zodiac needlepoint cushions in my husband and my star signs.

The third one I found in the bargain bin at the Pottery Barn Kids store in NYC. It looks very cute in my daughters room and modernises my Nanna’s old velvet slipper chair that we re-upholstered.
Here are some other needlepoint cushions that I am loving at the moment:

Colourful Portugese interior designer Maria Barros features these heart cushions in her homewares range.
Even Tory Burch has jumped on the bandwagon and has a whimsical range of needlepoint cushions in her new Home collection.
What are you collecting at the moment?
