My ‘Iso’ Pantry Makeover

Just checking in to see how everyone is going in isolation? There are lots of things that I am missing such as seeing family, eating out and catching up with friends. On the flip side it has been great to have more time to do those jobs that aren’t usually a priority. So I decided to tackle the pantry which I hadn’t cleaned properly in nearly four years! It was scary seeing some of the use by dates but it feels great to have the job done. I thought I would share with you some of my tips from my ‘Iso’ Pantry Makeover. These are applicable to any size pantry whether it is a cupboard or open shelving and may even give you more space if you are limited.

1. Tupperware

I am a big lover of Tupperware. Over the years as I increased my collection (and given my OCD tendencies!) it has bothered me that the lid colours of their Modular Mates containers have changed. There was a mix of red, blue and white lids. I recently contacted my local rep and ordered all new grey lids to make everything uniform and I love how everything is easily visible and stacks together neatly.

I emptied all my containers, washed and relabelled them using these Avery address labels from Officeworks.

2. Baskets

These baskets from Ikea are a great way to group pantry staples together while adding some visual interest and texture. I have used them for Pasta and Stock.

3. Plastic Tubs

Also from Ikea these plastic tubs are another way to group similar items together such as Spices, Nuts and Baking supplies.

The large size is ideal for keeping the girls’ lunch boxes together so they can easily access them in the mornings.

4. Expanding Shelf

For the bottles and jars, I use this Expanding Shelf. It allows everything to be easily visible.

Hopefully these tips can help if you get a chance to do a Pantry Makeover and fingers crossed it’s not another four years before I tackle this job again!

Stay well.
