Jonathan Adler Arrives at Coco Republic

On August 21 I attended the launch of the Jonathan Adler range at the Coco Republic showroom in Richmond. I am so excited about this collaboration between two of my favourite brands.  I have been a huge fan of Jonathan Adler’s homewares and furniture from the moment I first stepped into his flagship Soho store. I was in awe of the colour, textures and glamorous metallics.  His style is fun and quirky, yet still elegant.  The Coco Republic showroom has always been a source of inspiration for beautiful classic and contemporary furnishings. I have been an admirer ever since I completed an Interior Decoration Course a few years ago at their Design School in Sydney.

From street side the showroom looked incredible, flanked in the geometric design from the Jonathan Adler Shelter Island candle.

Inside, there was a true New York City vibe.  The waiters played the part, wearing Jonathan Adler bow ties.

The collection was larger than I expected, featuring over 220 furniture and home decor pieces. Neil Whitaker gave the welcome speech, describing Jonathan’s furnishings as “irreverent luxury”.  Unfortunately JA himself did not make an appearance in the flesh but he did leave guests with an upbeat video message.

Each ‘room’ featured Greg Natale wallpaper, available through Porter’s Paints.

Jonathan’s skills as a potter are reflected in many of his designs.

Some of my favourite pieces in the collection:

Jonathan Adler Collage 3

1. Delphine Bar 2. Lampert Sofa 3. Nixon Dining Table 4. Flower Bobo Cushion 5. Richard Nixon Throw

6. Bridget Kilim Rug

The night was a great success and it really feels as though a small piece of New York is now easily accessible in the heart of Church St, Richmond.

(On a side note I also loved meeting Greg Natale and chatting about his soon to be released coffee table book, The Tailored Interior.)

Belinda XO

Oh yes, and who doesn’t love some take-home blue ‘candy’?!
