This week has been a busy one. Lots of big decisions are being locked in for our new build interior. Although I made most of these decisions a while ago, it is hard not to second guess them. To stop myself overthinking things I am going with my initial ideas and relying on gut instinct. My study scheme is coming together too. Do you remember this black Diane Bergeron daybed with white piping that came home with me from the Design for Mirabel event?
It is currently in storage but I have had a bay window incorporated into the study where the daybed will fit like a glove (hopefully!). Being black and quite a large piece of furniture, I want to brighten the room up with softer colours. I found this Thibaut Donegal fabric which I love as a Roman blind option. It has dark charcoal in the print which ties the daybed in with a green and soft grey floral. I am looking at a vinyl wallpaper that has a grass weave effect. As you know I love grasscloth wallpaper but this option has a similar look at a more cost-effective price. The grey textured laminate will be the study bench top and I am considering throw cushions for the daybed in the rich green velvet.
My search for a grey island bench colour has led me to my first Friday’s Favourites. This gorgeous kitchen is such a classic. The upholstered striped stools bring in some personality.
I love this farmhouse style exterior. I am finding more of these on Pinterest. They have a classic design but are usually more pared back than a traditional Hamptons home.
The natural light in this laundry is a real feature. I’m always a fan of introducing soft furnishings such as these Roman blinds to a space with mainly hard surfaces.
The black coffee table in this open living room could seem too heavy but it is softened by the white furnishings and natural light.
Have a lovely weekend.
