I thought I would start off this week’s Friday’s Favourites by sharing a bit of colour inspo with you. Dulux released their 2016 Colour Forecast last week at the Meizai showroom and I was lucky enough to get a sneak preview. There were four separate ‘trends’ revealed.
1. Biofragility
A subtle palette taking its cues from nature’s fragile elements. This was my personal favourite, loving the pretty soft greys and lilacs.
2. Future Past
The idea behind this palette is that living in a digital age, we look for nostalgia from the past. Deep traditional hues such as the mustard yellow ‘Pickled’ are given a modern edge.
3. Retro Remix
A throw back to the 60s and 70s where colour was seen in unexpected combinations. I love the ‘Rockpool’ turquoise and ‘Mangatainoka’ orange. This is a fun and optimistic palette.
4. Infinite Worlds
This palette is inspired by the ocean and space. Dark colours are seen with flashes of reds, pinks and metallics.

It is always interesting to see how these colour trends play out not only in interiors and furnishings but fashion as well. Which is your favourite palette?
Now for this week’s Friday’s Favourites. A beautiful Hamptons style hallway will always catch my attention. It’s all in the details, moulding, highlight windows and of course the perfect rug.
And for another beautiful entrance closer to home. This bold large artwork sets the scene. I love the mix of classic with contemporary.
This sitting room might divide some of you. I find that people either love or hate purple. I am personally loving it combined with white and silver accents.
This kitchen/dining room is one of my favourites. So much inspiration here. From the coloured cabinetry with shaker profile, marble bench tops, beautiful windows, I could go on.
Have a lovely weekend.
