I have had a few requests for help in sourcing bedheads lately. There are so many options and the choice can be overwhelming. Upholstered bedheads are my preferred choice. Depending on the fabric used, an upholstered bedhead can be the feature or set the tone for the style of bedroom. To simplify things I have narrowed it down to my three favourites, with some variations of each.
1. Tufted
This style is a classic with the deep buttons in a diamond shape. Often seen in a linen fabric for a more ‘provincial’ look, it can also look great in a luxe velvet.
A small side ‘wing’ and nailhead trim add that little bit extra.
A contemporary take on the diamond tufted is this square buttoned style.
2. Simple Piped Edge
If the buttons aren’t your style then another of my favourites is the double piped edge. The piping can be in the same or contrasting fabric.
Or add a nailhead detail.
3. Curved
If you want to make the bedhead more of a showpiece and add some elegance, go for a curved shape. This one includes the deep buttons and piped edging.
Or a simplified version with a nailhead trim.
A beautiful fabric creates the wow factor with this bedhead. Simple white bed linen is all that is needed.
For ‘off the shelf’ options, here is my round up.
Which is your favourite style?
