The Diane Bergeron designed daybed that I picked up for a song at the Design for Mirabel Event (here) arrived at my 1980s house. It is currently sitting in an unused ‘nook’ in our bedroom but really isn’t having its moment of glory with the peach carpet and icy blue/grey walls.
I do have grand plans for the daybed in the dream house and am enjoying thinking about where it might go. I am considering a few options that I thought I would share.
Lounge Room:
I like a daybed being used as a ‘room divider’ in a formal lounge. With the addition of a few scatter cushions it can be a great place to sit by a fire with friends when entertaining.
A Nook:
When given its own space in a room, a daybed can become a feature or a great spot to curl up with a book.
Bedroom:
Or then there’s the ottoman/bench at the end of the bed option.
Entrance:
A daybed would make a great feature in an entrance.
Closet:
Given that I am still in the dreaming phase, a daybed in a walk in wardrobe would be very decadent!
