Flinders Home

The Brief

To assist in the renovation of this coastal home and create an inviting weekender for a family of four. A new master bedroom and ensuite was planned with additional storage, European laundry and separate main bathroom and toilet. Comfort and functionality when visitors are staying was also important. This home was featured in Home Beautiful magazine, September 2021. All images via Suzi Appel Photography.

Response

The floorplan was carefully considered and re-configured to create a WIR and Ensuite to the Master Bedroom. A small bedroom became the new main Bathroom with separate toilet and European Laundry. A new entertainer's kitchen was added and the entire living/dining space opened up with a raked ceiling to create an open and airy feel. French doors leading to the outdoor decking were added to create a flow between the inside and outdoor entertaining and garden spaces. For a coastal and relaxed style, furnishings were selected to be comfortable in a soft palette of greys and blues.
