I have been anticipating the recent opening of the Hamyard Hotel in London’s Soho. Each room has been individually designed in the classic style of British Interior Designer, Kit Kemp. I fell in love with Kit Kemps’ work a year ago when my husband and I stayed at the The Crosby Street Hotel in New York, whose interior she also designed. Every room features a different colour palette using beautiful fabrics and soft furnishings, giving the sense of a plush bedroom, rather than sterile hotel room.
This was our room with signature upholstered headboard, white quilt and co-ordinating bed pillows. The floor to ceiling industrial windows gave a wonderful view of the surrounding Soho neighbourhood. I love the dark walls and white contrast.
Beautiful accessories and attention to detail.
I tried to sweet talk the cleaning staff to show me some of the other rooms but apparently that was ‘taboo’. I have to settle with these images from the Crosby’s website.
A Two Bedroom Suite
This is the shared Drawing Room where many hours could be spent. The dark walls, plush fabrics and accessories gave the room a glamorous yet cosy feel. Kit Kemp cleverly styled it to include several smaller and more intimate sitting areas.
Great memories of Happy Hour cocktails on this sofa!
This very private courtyard was the perfect summer breakfast setting.
Love the rooftop veggie garden.

I am excited to see that Kit Kemp brings her signature contemporary style to the Hamyard Hotel. Again the rooms have large industrial windows with all the interior features of the Crosby, perhaps with a slightly more ‘traditional’ British style. I love seeing the different colour palettes she has selected.

Hard to choose which room I like the most but I have definitely added a stay at the Hamyard Hotel to my ‘wish list’!
