Last week I paid a visit to the new World of Style showroom by Porter Davis. This is the largest interiors and exteriors showroom in Australia. Although created as a selection centre for Porter Davis clients, it is also open to the general public (you just need to register first online). The centre is designed to be very interactive for the visitor while showing possibilities and examples of interiors products. This helps to reduce the decision-making process (which can often be overwhelming!) in a new build. To assist clients who don’t know what style of home resonates with them, Porter Davis offer a World of Style Quiz (here). By keeping a theme in mind, decisions can be more consistent and a cohesive overall look achieved. The four styles that they offer are Resort, Classic, Contemporary and Designer. Each style is broken down into a series of ‘looks’ with visual ideas on cards of how to create this look.
Mood boards with suggested materials are also on display. This one is for a Contemporary style home.
Not surprisingly I was drawn to the Classic style. This kitchen shows a great example of their joinery and hard finishes.
Clients can see and touch the products up close within a ‘real-life’ setting.
The idea galleries are straightforward and well presented.
Kitchen cabinetry options are displayed all together on one wall.
The bathroom displays are also of a high quality.
Nine different shower heads to choose from, depending on your style of home.
I like the interactive elements too. Choosing a staircase style is made easier by touch screen images.
Various pendant lighting options.
I spy a sconce!
I was impressed with how the options are displayed. Very user friendly.
Closet and wardrobe options.
Fireplace ideas in each of the styles.
I got a bit distracted walking past the wallpaper books. Staff at World of Style are qualified Interior Designers and available to assist with decisions.
One of the walls of carpet options.
A clever display of interior paint options.
Interactive screens are dotted around the showroom.
Exterior materials are also comprehensive and grouped together.
The kids playroom means the little ones are well-entertained.

A great cafe is on site as well to sit and ponder your decisions.

I really loved the concept of the showroom. Having all the elements under one roof makes so much sense for clients undertaking a new build. I was also impressed with the quality of the displays. If you are renovating or building, I would highly recommend paying a visit to the World of Style showroom.
