There has been a bit of action with our new build this week! The slab for the garage has been poured and the stumps for the house are in. Because the block is on a slope, building on stumps was a better option. It is exciting being able to see the footprint of the house.
This is a view from the front left corner. The house is going to be much higher on the block than we had originally thought! We are hoping that the two established trees we have kept, survive the build.
Now for Friday’s Favourites. This week I am featuring the work of Seattle based Interior Designer, Marianne Simon. She has perfected the muted palette. As you would know, this is not usually a colour scheme I am drawn to. However, Marianne still manages to provide depth and interest to a room through details in joinery and millwork. I love the combination of wood and marble to create this classic kitchen.
Although masculine in colour, this home office is both bright and luxurious. The beautiful windows are featured in a darker paint colour.
Depth is added to this living room with a darker mantel. It is such a cosy space, I am eyeing off the Hermes throw too!

The soft pink paisley wallpaper is so pretty and combines perfectly with the silver/grey tones of the hardware and marble vanity.
I am a big fan of Marianne’s work and have featured some other images on previous Friday’s Favourites blogposts.

Have a lovely weekend.
